Fishing Fort Lauderdale in April is very similar to March, only the fishing gets even better. We are still shark fishing and sailfishing out of the kites alot. Catching blackfin tunas, big kingfish and wahoos along the way. Some smaller 8-12 kings begin to bite real well on the troll along with the spring run of bonitas, which will have plenty of blackfin tunas mixed in the bunch. While we are catching plenty of mahi mahi out of the kites we begin to see them farther offshore and we begin to troll more for them as well. We will find the mahi mahi offshore along ripcurrents, weedlines and any floating debris along the way. The wahoos will also stack up under the weedlines and floating debris. The amberjack run is in full swing daring you to drop a bait on their turf, they are normally ready and willing to give you a battle you will not soon forget. Bottom fishing for snappers and groupers repopened April 1st. The snappers are quite thick on the “ledge” and we have picked a few nice groupers as well. Swordfishing offshore requires an all day trip but they are biting well day or night. Call me Capt. Mike at 954.522.4773 to book your adventure, today!
